An ice-skating rink situated in The Square will provide a unique form of entertainment for the family this winter in the heart of Palmerston North City this July school holidays.
Destination Manawatu is proud to sponsor the event and has spent months working with Douglas Webber Events to secure the attraction for the region – one of two ice-rinks travelling around the country.
“We’re pleased to add this to an already exciting calendar of community events,” says Destination Manawatu Chief Executive Lance Bickford.
“The Palmerston North City Council has been really supportive in providing space for us to ice-over in the heart of the city, making an enjoyable winter playground for the whole family – and something a bit different as well.”
The temporary rink will be in The Square from 23 June until 22 July and will be open from 9am – 10pm daily.
“Ice-rinks have proven enormously popular in other centres, and the opportunity to bring it to Manawatu was something we couldn’t let slide past us,” Mr Bickford says.
Entry is $20 per adult, $15 per child under 16 years of age. Family Pass and student discounts apply.
