Destination Manawatu is a key partner in the Manawatu Regional Development Strategy. This strategy aims to protect and enhance Manawatu's key assets.

By 2021 Palmerston North City and Manawatu will:

Be the best place in New Zealand to raise a family
Lead environmental and sustainable practices in New Zealand
Be a world centre for food innovation
Have maximised the strategic advantage of our central 'hub' location
