Get you camera ready - we're recruiting!

Written by  Janet Reynolds

Help a visitor step into your jandals for a time...Convey what it's like to experience your moment in time - feeling dwarfed by the vistas from a local lookout, savouring the best eggs bene, or dodging the 'green gold' on the ground as you navigate a stock auction at the saleyards.

Destination Manawatu is recruiting new bloggers to join our 'blogger stable'.  We're seeking people who enjoy getting out and about, who can take great pics and blog.

No previous blogging experience required.  Writing tips and support are provided, but we are holding an audition, so you need to limber up your keyboard and email us your best effort.

Theme: (Open theme - as long as it's relevant to locals and visitors checking out Palmerston North City & Manawatu's website to get regional information)

Word Count: Maximum of 200 words.

Images: Landscape.  Up to four images of up to 1megabyte each.

Hyperlinks: Annotate your blog post with words/phrases you'd hyperlink, and where you'd link them to.

Bio Pic and information: We'll publish select blogs, so please provide a profile pic and some information about yourself to accompany your post.

DEADLINE:  Tuesday 20th December at 4pm

Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the title, "Blogger Audition"

Results will be announced on 16th January 2012.

We'll post those blogs that pass the suitability test, then leave it up to the public to vote with their mice.  The blog post with the most number of reads, comments and highest ranking will win a special prize.

There is no limit to the number of bloggers who will be accepted in to the Destination Manawatu 'blogger stable'.  Bloggers help us keep it real, and we really enjoy reading what our locals say.  If you're successful, you'll be invited to contribute blogs on a regular basis with a small reward, and go in the competition for the most popular guest blog post each month for an exciting prize.

Most of my weekends are spent exploring our Region and it never ceases to amaze me that no matter how well you think you know it, there is always something new to discover.

My family and I are very keen on fishing and kayaking, so a day at the beach is perfect for us.

My secret hobby is op shopping.  I love to score treasures from antique and used goods shops, whether it's a 1950's relic, a pre-loved book or a bargain fashion find.

I'm no green thumb, but I love to spend time in the garden, trying new things and mostly growing all sorts of edible delights.

You are most likely to see me walking the dog, at the beach - out and about in our spectacular region.
