Hitchman's Corner Water Trough is an remnant of early pioneering life on a main drovers' route to Feilding.
A commemoration of our early pioneers, this water trough was erected by the Farmers' Union in December 1939. It was also to be used by the stock being driven to the Feilding Saleyards. The trough measures 6 meters in length and is a reminder of Kimbolton Road's importance as a major supply route to northern Manawatu rural communities, when horses were the principal mode of transportation.
