Songbird Gardens

Songbird Gardens features eight acres of gardens and a romantic cottage.

Gardens: On the slopes of the Ruahine Ranges, in the stunning Pohangina Valley, you will find Songbird Gardens. These gardens are mystical, magical and full of surprises. Tranquil, idyllic, and as the name suggests, filled with birds. Songbird is a garden for all seasons, and covers over 3 hectares. In the springtime there are daffodils everywhere, a bluebell wood, rhododendrons and much more. For summer see the dahlias in all their splendour, and lining the driveway is agapanthus, golden elms and vibrant blue hydrangeas. Even autumn and winter have their glory in this garden. With NZ natives, deciduous trees, water features and garden art. Children are admitted free and love to explore to see if they can find the secret paths that are the home of many fairies. Songbird Gardens is open all year by appointment.

Accommodation: Located in the picturesque Pohangina Valley, and surrounded by gorgeous gardens, you'll never want to leave this tranquil and idyllic retreat. The cottage is cosy and romantic with an open fire and a ceiling hung with dried flowers. The bathroom is spacious, and is also equipped with a washing machine and dryer for your convenience. There is also a microwave and fridge/freezer. This Bed & Breakfast is truly unique and well worth the visit. Price is on application.
