"A community of people who come from different cultures"

"A community of people who come from different cultures"

After growing up in Mumbai, India, Ramola Ladge moved to Palmerston North in February 2018 to study a Master of Education at Massey University. Since completing her studies, Ramola has gone on to start a career working with other students at Massey University.

In her current role, Ramola works closely with students to help solve problems and improve their overall experience while studying at Massey University.

"My job provides me with great satisfaction. I'm able to watch the students benefiting from the services we're providing and I can see them growing during their time here. It makes me really happy."

Ramola says she absolutely loves Palmerston North, and the lifestyle it offers her.

"I choose to live in Palmerston North because it allows me to have a good work life balance. I wanted to be able to have a life after work. Here, I can finish work at 4pm, and still go for a bike ride around the city or play badminton at the recreation centre."

We asked Ramola...

What advice would you give to other international students?

“Be really open minded when meeting new people and take time to understand their cultures. Also, don’t just set yourself a target of ‘I want a job’, it’s all about taking one step at a time and making the most of all opportunities that come your way.”
