Footprints of Africa is a powerful visual reflection on the profound impact that African nature and its people have on the human soul. It’s often said: no one visits Africa only once—its essence stays with you forever.
Louise’s journey began on a South African dairy farm, where she developed a deep awareness of humanity’s dependence on nature. Her father, an amateur wildlife photographer, nurtured her love for wildlife during family holidays in the legendary Kruger National Park. Childhood days spent sketching treasures found on the farm laid the foundation for her artistic path.
Life took Louise across continents—working as an occupational therapist in South Africa, raising a family in the United Arab Emirates and Australia, and engaging in community projects. After relocating to New Zealand, she embraced her dream, graduating from the Milan Art Institute in 2024. Today, she paints from her garden studio in Palmerston North, creating soulful works inspired by both African roots and New Zealand’s natural beauty. She also shares her passion through acrylic painting classes for adults of all backgrounds.
Louise’s art now graces collections in Canada, South Africa, the UAE, Australia, and New Zealand—each piece carrying the spirit of Africa and the stories of her journey.
Visit the Feilding Art Centre to see how Louise uses vibrant colours and expressive layering to bring pieces of Africa to us.
