Kaitiaki Kids is an exhibition and project by art tutor Chyzabelle Chadwick in collaboration with Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery. It features art work by a small handful of students from Terrace End School in their mission of kaitiakitanga (Protection of the sky, sea and land) through their art and creativity.
The art pieces are inspired by the students visit to Wildbase where they observed and were informed about our native wildlife and environments, as well as the work being done to protect and preserve our precious ecosystems by the dedicated team at Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery.
The hope is to inspire, encourage and create awareness for our native taonga and wild places by demonstrating how powerful art can be as a platform for conservation. Raising future generations of Kaitiaki/Guardians of the land.
