The “Pak’nSave Cooks Classic” on Saturday 27th January 2024 will feature the New Zealand One Mile Championships plus other top-class events over a 2-and-a-half-hour action pack programme.
The cream of New Zealand’s and Australia’s top athletes will be competing in the following events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, One Mile, 400m Hurdles, Shot Put, Triple Jump, Javelin and Long Jump.
The Meeting will feature the NZ One Mile Championship for Senior Men & Women and Masters.
The 2024 Cooks Classic is a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event and will feature visiting athletes from Japan, France and Australia. Including the Australian 100 metres Men's Champion.
The Men Mile will feature our own Sam Tanner in a year when he hope the better Sir John Walker's best time of 3 minutes 49.08s.
Come and visit Cooks Gardens - "The Home of the Mile". A ground that has witness 75 sub four minute mile since that night 62 years ago when Sir Peter Snell broke the World One Mile record running 3 minutes 54.4s.
