There will be a range of fun interactive stalls to check out, including:
- Our flood simulation table
- Mini floodgate model
- Guided walks down into the floodway to see the gates up close
- Civil Defence 'pack ya bags' emergency preparedness activity
...and more!
Explore the stalls and fill out a quiz afterward to be in the draw to win some sweet emergency prep prizes for you and your whānau!
Plus, you'll get a free drink or ice block and goody bag when you arrive!
When booking your tickets please make sure you enter a valid email address - we'll send through relevant details for your transport option closer to the day.
Pick one of two sessions, with buses running from Levin via Shannon or Foxton direct to the gates and back (Please note: no private vehicles will be permitted on site - bus transport only):
Session 1 will depart the Levin Library at 9:45am, stopping at Stout St (next to the basketball courts) in Shannon at 10:00am, and arrives at Moutoa at approx. 10:15am.
The bus will depart Moutoa at 12:05pm, stopping in Shannon at Stout St at approx. 12:15pm before arriving back at Levin Library at approx. 12:30pm.
Session 2 will depart the Levin Library at 10:45am, stopping at the carpark at Easton Park in Foxton (on Johnston St) at 11:00am, and arrives at Moutoa at approx. 11:15am.
The bus will depart Moutoa at 1:15pm, stopping in Foxton at Easton Park at approx. 1:25pm before arriving back at Levin Library at approx. 1:45pm.
Event notes:
If you're unable to attend the event for any reason, please get in contact with us directly at [email protected] so we know how many bus seats are still available for others. Refunds will not be issued unless we cancel the event, in which case you will be notified by phone or email.
Accessibility: Access to the event is by bus only - no private vehicles are permitted. Buses are not wheelchair accessible. Event site includes full flight of stairs, narrow spaces and a steep hill, with possible slip hazards following any recent rain at the site.
Weather contingency: If weather is not looking great for the day, the call to cancel will be made by 12pm, Friday 21 November. You'll be contacted and a full refund of purchased tickets will be issued.
