September 13: Why me? Understanding Karma
So many of the burning questions we have about life such as “why is the happening to me?”, “what did I do to deserve this”, or “it’s so unfair?” are answered through understanding the law of karma.
The law of karma explains the relationship between our actions and our experiences.
Positive actions are the main causes of happiness and negative actions are the main causes of our suffering.
By understanding (and more importantly applying) Buddha’s teachings on the law of karma we can learn to control our present and future experiences.
Karma teaches us that no experience is random, and nothing is pre-determined, and that by learning to control our mind and our actions we can become masters of our own destiny and create a life of harmony, with deep spiritual meaning.
