With free parking and boutique charm, New Zealand’s most beautiful town Feilding has lots on offer. Here is just a taster of the many great places to visit, shop and eat for a great day out.

Eat & Drink:

Amayjen

Amayjen (pronounced imagine) is the only Manawatū restaurant to be named in Cuisine Magazine’s top 100 New Zealand restaurants in 2018. An elegant fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Feilding, Amayjen takes pride in sourcing fresh local and seasonal produce to ensure that their menu is varied and reflects their love and passion for New Zealand.

Open Monday to Saturday.

Blended Cafe

If you’re fond of a spot of brunching then make sure to start the day off right with breakfast at Blended Cafe. Offering an extensive menu which includes breakfast bowls, smoothies and a number of gluten free and vegan options; Blended is a haven for the health lovers among us. Blended also serves coffee from one of our favourite fair trade and organic New Zealand roasters, Kokako.

The Strong Room

Right in the middle of town, The Strong Room is a favourite amongst the locals and attracts a busy Friday night crowd. Located in a converted bank – complete with vault, and offering a great selection of beer and wines, pop along for a drink or stay and try their lunch or dinner menu. Perfect for larger groups or a unique private dining experience.

Open Tuesday to Sunday.

Piccolo’s Cafe

A local hot spot, head to Piccolos if you’re looking for great coffee, food and super friendly customer service. Offering a huge range of delicious baked goods (many of which are gluten free), paleo bread and raw treats, it’s the perfect spot for afternoon tea with a friend or a relaxed lunch date.

Open Monday to Saturday.

Murray’s Irish Bar & Restaurant

Located in the heart of town, Murray’s is popular with crowds young and old.  Famous for their $10 lunch menu, traditional Irish decor and live music on a Friday. Join the crowds for lunch on a Friday, following the famous Feilding livestock sales, or for dinner and drinks any night of the week.

Joe McMenamin Art Studio & Gallery

Joe McMenamin’s Art Studio & Gallery is a place for artists and art lovers to come together. As well as teaching art classes for adults and kids, Joe produces a range of hand-coloured prints and original paintings in the Studio and exhibits them in the Gallery. Joe’s style of art has a uniquely New Zealand flavour, with a real skill for painting New Zealand native birds.

Feilding Farmers Market

Held every Friday, the Feilding Farmers’ Market has been going strong for 13 years and has won Farmers’ Market of the Year a total of three times! Every Friday morning you’ll find a great range of artisan stalls that showcase the best of what our region grows and produces, including delicious cheeses, fresh baked goods, meats, vegetables, olive oils, fresh flowers, coffee and a whole lot more. The market is a foodie haven with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Open Friday 9am – 1:30pm.

Feilding Farmers’ Market, Manchester Square

The Space

Run by talented local duo Danielle and Jacynda, The Space runs a variety of interesting and creative classes and workshops with the aim of inspiring locals to try something new! Yoga, watercolours, wreath making, chocolate and food styling are just some of the interesting topics that have been covered in their previous workshops.

Feilding Saleyards

With the largest livestock saleyard in the Southern Hemisphere, every Friday the usually quiet town turns into a hub of activity with farmers and livestock agents descending on the Feilding Saleyards to buy and sell livestock. If you’re looking to experience a taste of rural Manawatū then guided saleyard tours are run by knowledgeable local farmers every Friday.

Saleyard tours operate every Friday from 11am.

Focal Point Cinema

Looking for a bit of luxury for your next movie screening? A visit to Focal Point Cinema and Wine Bar is a great way to view all the latest films. With a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu alongside great cabinet food, coffee and wine, the cinema is the perfect way to spend an evening or head along to one of their day time sessions.

Coach House Museum

Open seven days, the Coach House Museum showcases Manawatū rural heritage. With support from almost 100 volunteers the Coach House Museum showcases over 140 years of rural development. Take a tour with one of their guides, who can show you the largest original John Deere collection in New Zealand, largest collection of horse drawn vehicles and the only 1912 Burford Lorry in the world! The museum also offers pop-up exhibitions, including the ‘Plastic Toys of Yesteryear’ exhibition.
