A hot night of hilarity featuring funny comics from across the country, with some surprises up our sleeves... it's the return of Modern Comedy to the Globe Theatre!
MC Callum Wagstaff is the self-proclaimed (yet undisputed) Most Haunted Comedian in NZ, and a 3x winner of Comedy Hub's Best Comedian award. Callum is a true "road dog" hailing from Taranaki. He drives all over the North Island popping up anywhere from theatres to sheds, telling jokes with a goblin-like energy and a cheeky grin.
Richie Faavesi was originally here for a naked tag team breakdance battle, but due to "scheduling conflicts", he'll have to settle for just doing some stand-up. Richie’s bold, raw, and hilariously unapologetic style is opening doors across the country, with recent appearances on Joe Daymond's Comedy Mixtape, his NZICF show "Double Up" with Opeti Vaka, and nationally touring Maori/Pasifika line-up "Chocolate Humour".
Kiwi-Indian comic Manish Latch is making his mark on the NZ comedy scene with his fresh take on the quirks of everyday life being brown and it not keeping him down. Manish was a finalist in the 2022 NZ Raw Comedy Quest, and recently slayed audiences with his festival show American (Curry) Pie.
Jayda McIndoe returns to Palmy fresh from performing in Auckland, ready to bring shocking punchlines and/or musical comedy to the Globe. Winner of the Golden Gag award for Best Joke in the 2023 Comedy Hub awards, she's also known for her musical comedy duo show "More Than Words" with Siobhan Barnard, and was a regular in Wellington's "Taylor Swift Book Club" cabaret.
Who else will join this already stacked line-up? Stay tuned to find out!
