Charlotte Cook is an award-winning broadcaster at Radio New Zealand whose sharp reporting and authentic storytelling have captivated audiences across Aotearoa and beyond.
A Palmerston North native and graduate of the New Zealand Broadcasting School, Charlotte quickly rose through the ranks at RNZ after joining in 2019. From breaking news in one of the nation’s busiest newsrooms to shaping the national conversation on Morning Report as a senior reporter and producer, she now fronts the flagship Midday Report — all while remaining a trusted voice on RNZ shows as a guest presenter.
Her journalism goes far beyond the studio. Charlotte has developed Kiwi contacts in the war-torn frontlines of Ukraine, delivered live coverage of the Parliament protests and nationwide hikoi, and uncovered systemic abuse — including the sexual misconduct at Dilworth School — with precision and compassion. Her work has earned national recognition, including finalist and runner-up nods at the Voyager Media Awards.
Off-air, Charlotte created Hair and Loathing, the innovative and original podcast that sparked a national conversation on women’s relationships with body hair. Celebrated for its honesty and cultural relevance, the series took home Best Documentary or Factual Talk Feature at the 2023 NZ Radio Awards.
Known for her empathy, clarity, and fearless approach, Charlotte Cook brings humanity to the headlines — and challenges us all to listen closer.
