Most of us know what good communication looks like. The challenge is doing it consistently when something important is happening.
It might be a conversation about performance, giving feedback, setting a boundary, working through different perspectives, navigating change, managing expectations, responding when emotions are running high, or having a conversation you've been putting off.
In these moments, most of us don't suddenly forget how to communicate. But we can become reactive, avoid the issue altogether, make assumptions, or struggle to find the right words. And yet, these are often the conversations that matter most.
This workshop is about building the confidence and capability to communicate well when things feel more difficult, uncertain or complex than usual.
We'll explore tools and approaches that help us connect better, communicate more clearly, listen more effectively, have the conversations that need to be had, work through conflict well, set healthy boundaries, and maintain positive relationships when things get challenging.
The session is interactive, practical, and fun (yes, fun!). You'll have the opportunity to share, reflect, discuss, practise and learn alongside others facing similar situations and challenges.
Whether you're leading a team, working as part of a team, supporting clients, teaching students, running a business, or simply wanting to have better conversations, you'll leave with ideas and tools you can start using straight away.
You will learn how to:
• Recognise early when conversations are starting to go off track
• Communicate clearly and confidently when pressure, complexity or emotion are present
• Approach feedback, boundaries, expectations and difficult conversations with greater confidence
• Work through conflict well and recover more effectively after challenging interactions
Because no matter what role we have, life tends to involve people, and people tend to involve conversations.
