The Feilding/Marton Hogget Fair and Cancer Society Fundraiser returns to the Feilding Saleyards on Wednesday 12 August 2026, bringing together the rural community for one of New Zealand's most recognised livestock events while supporting a cause that touches almost every family.
Held annually in the lead-up to Daffodil Day, the Hogget Fair is a major fixture on the New Zealand livestock calendar. Alongside quality livestock trading, the event provides an important opportunity for farmers, agents, businesses, and supporters to help raise vital funds for the Cancer Society.
Cancer affects thousands of New Zealanders every year, and the demand for Cancer Society support services continues to grow. Many people are unaware that the Cancer Society receives no regular government funding, relying heavily on the generosity of individuals, communities, and fundraising events such as this to continue providing free support, accommodation assistance, transport services, information, advocacy, and cancer prevention programmes.
As more people are diagnosed with cancer each day and require support, we are calling on our rural community to get behind this important fundraiser by donating one or more sheep to be sold through the Cancer Society pen.
Every donation, large or small, helps ensure local people facing cancer can access the support they need when they need it most.
Join us at the Feilding Saleyards on Wednesday 12 August 2026 and help make a difference through this long-standing rural fundraising tradition.
Donations of sheep and community support are warmly welcomed.
