At Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery, visitors have the opportunity to see what's involved with caring for sick or injured native wildlife. The centre cares for some of the world's most endangered species. After receiving treatment at Massey University's Wildbase Hospital, patients come down to rehabilitate before release back to the wild. The facility is also home to a number of permanent residents who can be seen in our walk-through aviary, or the breeding programme aviaries. Within the facility, the Powerco Education Centre is a fantastic place to learn and discover more about conservation issues. The centre is completely bilingual, te reo & English, with friendly volunteer visitor hosts here to welcome everyone, and it's all free.
