Blazing Hills Raetihi is back, offering an epic adventure in the heart of Ruapehu. This unique event lets participants explore stunning private farmland, open exclusively for this event, with breathtaking views and challenging terrain. Whether you're taking on trail runs, walks, or the exciting new Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), this event is a must for outdoor adventurers.

Trail Runs & Walks
Blazing Hills offers scenic courses for all levels, featuring rare access to private farmland:

3km: A family-friendly, easy option for those looking for a fun challenge.
6km: A social run/walk showcasing stunning landscapes.
11km Heartbreak Hill: A more intense course with spectacular views.
21km Hilly Half Marathon: A rewarding half marathon through rugged hill country.
These trails offer a unique chance to experience Ruapehu’s hidden landscapes.

New for 2025: Obstacle Course Racing (OCR)
Take it to the next level with OCR courses designed to test your endurance and strength. From mud crawls to rope climbs, this is an adventure-packed addition to the event.

Firestarter – 3km: 20+ obstacles, ages 10+.
Fireball – 7km: 30+ obstacles, ages 14+.
Firestorm – 10km: 40+ obstacles, ages 14+.
Triferno: Combine all three distances (3km, 7km, 10km) for the ultimate challenge.
Flamehunters: A 7km team race, perfect for groups.
Mini Flames – 1.5km: A fun kids' race with 15+ obstacles, ages under 12.
A Weekend of Fun
Blazing Hills is more than a race—it’s a full weekend experience. Enjoy on-site camping, après-race refreshments, food stalls, and a kids' zone with games. It's the perfect escape for families and adventurers alike, set against the stunning backdrop of Ruapehu.
