Mangahao Power Station was commissioned to generate renewable electricity for the lower North Island in 1924.
Now in its centenary year, Mangahao Power Station will be opened to the public to explore a piece of Aotearoa New Zealand's hydro generation history.
There will be entry sessions across the day, with your ticket including bus transport from Shannon School to the power station and a guided tour of the power station and museum.
Please note: Access to the power station is by tour bus only. Traffic control will be in place with no private vehicle access to the station available.
All ticketing proceeds will be donated to local schools.
