As you probably know by now, I didn't stand for ACT because I needed something to do. I stood because I think New Zealand has extraordinary potential, and I'm not prepared to sit back and watch us settle for mediocrity.
That means telling a few uncomfortable truths.
Our economy is too small. Our bureaucracy is too big. We cannot borrow our way to prosperity. We cannot tax our way to prosperity. And we certainly can't divide our way to prosperity.
The good news is that none of this is inevitable. New Zealand is still paradise. We've just forgotten what we're capable of.
That's what Paul Henry Unlocked: Truth Telling for a Better Tomorrow is all about (that’s what they’ve called my road trip).
It'll be a town hall style event with plenty of time for your questions. Ask me anything. Well... almost anything.
I hope you'll come along. It would be great to meet you in person.
After all, if we're serious about turning this wonderful slice of paradise around, we should at least be talking to each other.
