Feel the embrace of Hinetakurua, the Winter Maiden, as we gather to honour Waitī – the whetū (star) connected to fresh water and its life-giving food sources.
Join us for karakia by the awa, then take a refreshing mid-winter dip to acknowledge the importance of our rivers and the Matariki season.
After the swim, enjoy some kai, hot chocolate, and whakawhanaungatanga (connection and bonding) around the braziers.
Please remember to bring a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. River shoes are also recommended.
Weather permitting.
Postponement date: Sunday 29th June.
