Remembrance Day

This is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany to end World War I.

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the guns fell silent.

Come join us and acknowledge the sacrifices of thousands of Kiwis who lost their lives in the war.

In the event of wet weather, the service will be relocated to the Convention Centre. Updates regarding weather changes will be posted on the council's Facebook page at 8:00am on the day of the event.
