Moondog Blues & Sue Thorby take to the lower North Island in mid-February 2026 with an unforgettable show of heartfelt blues & gypsy soul. Both seasoned and powerful musicians and performers, you are in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of two of New Zealand’s finest roots musicians.
Moondog, either found based out of Northland, NZ or as the gypsy bluesman touring Australia, channels a gritty, raw style — using metal-bodied guitars (homemade biscuit tins ‘AlleyTyns’), harmonica, a gritty and sometimes dark freight train voice, thumb slappin’ bass, foot-stomping rhythm — to deliver a unique blend of traditional blues, rock n roll, voodoo-infused “Bluz A Billy,” and Mojo-Juju vibes.
Sue Thorby, one of Aotearoa’s finest, brings her exceptional self-titled album and unforgettable live performance, rich with heart and superb musicianship back out on the road. Defying genres fused with blues, rock, celtic, gypsy soul and jazz, driving guitar rhythmns and powerful vocals, Sue weaves unapologetically honest stories of love, humanity, anguish & hope, grit and beauty.
