To the Front Te Papaioea youth music programme will be held in the school holidays between Saturday 27 – Tuesday 30 September, hosted by Creative Sounds Society – The Stomach, Palmerston North
To The Front Te Papaioea is open to youth aged 12-17 years who are women, transgender, intersex, takatāpui, queer and gender diverse.
At the programme they learn instruments, form bands, write original songs, and perform at a showcase, all guided by musicians, mentors and industry professionals. Alongside collaborative learning, participants take part in workshops about DIY merchandise, mindfulness, and performance skills. Each day they enjoy lunchtime performances from local artists.

To The Front is open to all young women, trans, intersex, takatāpui, queer and gender diverse youth between the ages of 12-17 years old and is held in an inclusive venue.
Each day at To The Front includes a full schedule of workshops, instrument lessons, song writing / band practice time, performances and more!
We have some fees-free sponsored placements available for Māori and Pasifika applicants. There are also sponsored places available for low-income families.
