The Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is the economic development agency and regional tourism organisation for the Manawatū region, which encompasses Palmerston North and the Manawatū district.

As the Regional Tourism Organisation for Palmy and Manawatū, CEDA looks after the promotion of the Manawatū region and represents the voice of the destination to potential visitors.

Taking Manawatū to the world!

CEDA attended the annual InBound Travel event where we pitched Manawatū to 60+ Inbound Tour Operators in a fast paced two-day event hosted in Tāmaki Makaurau. We were able to showcase 11 of our region’s trade-ready tourism businesses as well as key themes and experiences on offer to small groups and independent travellers.

TRENZ 2025

Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is taking Manawatū to TRENZ for the first year ever, with the support of our region's key tourism operators.

TRENZ is New Zealand’s largest international tourism business event and the most important event of the year on the tourism events calendar. TRENZ brings hundreds of international travel buyers together to meet with New Zealand’s leading tourism operators (sellers) over three days to build or renew relationships and negotiate business for upcoming seasons. TRENZ 2025 will be held from 6-8 May 2025.

Marketing Workshop Coming 2025

CEDA is running a visitor industry-specific marketing workshop this year. This will be tailored to the needs of a visitor operator in the Manawatū region. Keep an eye on our industry hub and CEDA communications for more information to come, or register interest.

Inbound Trade Event (IBO) 2025

CEDA is representing Manawatū at the annual Inbound Trade Event (IBO) this year. The purpose of the event is for dedicated time between the regions and agents to provide each other on updates. For RTOs, this is an update on new products or initiatives in the region and for agents, this is to advise RTOs of the potential opportunities from their clients.
