If you're looking for somewhere a bit quieter to hunker down, Palmerston North City Library is the place to get you in the zone. There's chilled water on tap, free and fast Wi-Fi, access to printers, newspapers and meeting rooms, and when you need a break, you can take a short walk through to George Street where you'll find cafes, restaurants and boutique shops.

George Street is a Palmerston North gem and home to several fantastic cafes and restaurants. One of our favourites is Barista Cafe. Complete with a huge surrealist mural that captures the eye before you even walk in, Barista is fully stocked (and licensed) with all the tasty food, coffee and teas you'll need to keep you going while you work. Living beneath the city library has its advantages, too, frequent library users can reach Wi-Fi from the cafe and connect for free.

Moxies cafe is a must-try location for workers on the go. It has great brekkie and lunch options, hot chocolate made with real chocolate and is full of friendly locals. With the added bonus of free parking for one hour (in the Harvey Norman car park), it's perfect for meetings or to get in the zone.

If you're looking for a place to set up your laptop in Feilding, Focal Point is the place to go. It's warm, has InspireNet's free Wi-Fi, great food and drink options, free parking and it's close to the Friday morning Farmer's Market if you feel like having a wander. If you need a break, Focal Point is also a boutique movie theatre... we won't tell if you don't.
Where Dutch and Māori culture come together, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom is part co-working space, part library, part museum, and part board-game-lovers haven (among other things) - this place has everything. With a cosy cafe at the front, community jigsaw puzzle near reception, and free-to-use instruments scattered throughout the venue, this place will keep you entertained for hours. Located just off the main road, near the Manawatū River Loop, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom boasts incredible views - head to the back-end of the first floor and check out the stunning view from the stained glass window.
