The development and launch of the Manawatū Destination Management Plan in outlined the urgent need for targeted investment into commercial accommodation to support the strong growth of the region's visitor economy.

As a result, a commercial accommodation analysis was done to look at existing capacity, demand scenarios and visitation characteristics to support investor planning and decisions.

Additionally, the councils of Palmerston North city and Manawatū district are both ready and willing to work with the right partners to bring more beds into the region.
