RELAX TO THE MAX

Settle in for spa spoils or nurture your need for nature

Taking a break in the countryside is the ideal way to relax and unwind. Hiwinui Country Estate is a short 13-minute drive from Palmerston North's city centre, and your first choice for a perfect escape from the city, all year round.

Hiwinui Country Estate is a family-owned business run by owners Jan and Dave Stewart, along with their daughter Julia and her husband Gian. Together they've created an award-winning lodge, offering guests a tailored and unforgettable experience set in the spectacular foothills of the Manawatū. If you're after a romantic weekend away, or simply wanting to relax and reset, a trip to Hiwinui is an absolute must.

While sitting down with Julia, she tells us about her family's history at Hiwinui. I'm a 5th generation Stewart of the land and our family's been here since the late 1800s after migrating from Scotland. "We want this sense of homeliness to be evident right from when you walk through the front doors - we want you to feel right at home!"

The many charming and spoiling touches all do just that.

Rest and Rejuvenate

Julia takes care of all the bookings and makes sure everything is in hand from the moment each guest steps through the door.

"While arranging your stay, let us know how else we can make your trip as relaxing and stress-free as possible."

When booking to stay in the lodge, guests have the use of the impressive and inviting lounge and dining areas, as well as the outdoor spa pool and tranquil fire area. "If you're after a bit of pampering book a massage or grazing platter to really treat yourself." And in the morning, breakfast is locally sourced with seasonally fresh produce, giving you the real farm-to-fork experience. "If you're after more privacy and are simply wanting to be left alone, opt for the tree tops apartment, which has its own private entrance and is fully contained." You'll even have your own private balcony and be greeted with far-reaching views across the stunning 1500-acre estate.
Reconnect with nature

Stroll through the grounds, soak up the sun, or embark on one of the private farm tours, where you'll be picked up on a comfortable four-wheel-drive vehicle and taken around the farm. Julia's father, Dave, leads the tours and features all the activities that have created the Stewart family's legendary farming heritage.

If the full farm experience isn't for you, relax with privacy in the sun, shade or indoors.

Ditch the hustle and bustle of city life and hide away in timeless elegance to enjoy a much-needed break, leaving you feeling well-rested and rejuvenated.
