Massey university

Massey University continues to be the leader in land-based sciences, the development, production and packaging of food, education, sports exercise and management, business, social work and social policy, Māori development, IT and engineering.

It is also home to university-based aviation school, WH Oliver Humanities Research Academy, and New Zealand’s only veterinary science programme, which is one of a few vet schools outside of North America that have received American veterinary medical association accreditation.

Massey University’s work defines New Zealand, enables New Zealand to compete globally and leads the way in research and technology development. The Palmerston North campus is also a leader in the sport and well-being arena with world-class facilities, teaching and research expertise and the Massey University Sports Academy.

Massey in Palmerston North offers well-priced student accommodation in the Halls of Residence, and the city offers free bus service to get around the city.

Universal College of Learning (ucol)

Established in 1902, UCOL is a high-performing Institute of Technology and Polytechnic that offers a wide range of rewarding study options.

With over 100 programmes covering certificates, diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate qualifications, its programmes are designed for people wanting to learn - no matter what their stage of life.

UCOL’s excellent long-standing reputation draws students from far and wide with its Palmerston North campus right in the heart of the city. Lecturers take a relationships-based approach to teaching, called Te Atakura, which has helped see the success of all students improve. IPU new zealand

IPU New Zealand offers a unique environment for those who want to learn about their role in the global community. By catering to international students from a wide range of backgrounds, IPU New Zealand offers a truly multicultural setting.

IPU New Zealand also welcomes domestic students who are looking to study in the fields of International Business, International Relations, Japanese Studies, and TESOL & Language Studies. Degree, diploma, and postgraduate programmes are offered, which are all approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). IPU New Zealand has been given the highest possible rank available for Tertiary Institutes by NZQA: Category 1 - Highly Confident.

IPU New Zealand's small classes and individualised support from internationally-experienced staff ensure that students achieve academic success, and are on the right track to developing their career pathway.

The institute offers the opportunities to travel to Japan whilst studying, whether through the 20-week exchange in IPU Japan (Okayama), our two-year Double Degree Programme, or through the Business Internship at Tokyo International Business College. Te Wananga o Aotearoa

Te Wananga o Aotearoa is considered one of the largest indigenous people’s colleges in the world, and is particularly committed to revitalising Maori language and cultural knowledge. Te Wananga offers a range of qualifications, including Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees.

As a tertiary education provider, Te Wananga focuses on ‘whanau transformation through education’, and was established to offer education opportunities to those who have had negative experiences within the education system. 
 
To support their students journey, Te Wananaga offers extensive student support, home-based learning and flexible learning hours.  Subjects taught include Te Reo Maori, Maori knowledge, social work, business management, computing, arts, education, and sport and fitness. Te Wananga also offers foundation programmes for building skills for further study, and vocational programmes for specific careers.  
 
The bicultural setting of Te Wananga will have special value for those with Maori heritage and/or an interest in understanding Maori culture better, but all New Zealanders are welcome to study at Te Wananga.
